Fugitive From Justice Arrested

Holly Richardson was reported to the Iron County Sheriff’s Office as wanted by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office for Interference with Custody, and Concealing a Child Contrary to Court Order.  Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office requested assistance in locating RICHARDSON and her 5 year old daughter.

12 pounds of Marijuana seized

December 6, 2011 approximately 1030 hrs, Cedar City Utah.

In the performance of a traffic stop deputies with the Iron County Sheriff's Office executed a drug seizure of more than 12 pounds of processed marijuana. A subject arrested in possession of said drugs also had more than $1000 cash on his person.

Annual Shop with a Cop/Tip-a-cop Fundraiser

The annual Tip-a-Cop fundraiser, which helps raise funds for the Shop with a Cop program continues this weekend, December 2nd and 3rd, 2011.

This weekend will be the last weekend that we will be holding the Tip-a-Cop events this year.

During Tip-a-Cop events, local law enforcement and other public safety personnel volunteer their time to serve patrons of participating restaurants, and raise money for Shop with a Cop.

Officers arrest burglary suspect

ST. GEORGE - After investigating several reported burglaries of storage units in Beaver and Iron counties, Beaver County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested one suspect at his Cedar City residence Wednesday.

Shon Leavitt, 37, 923 S. 170 West, Cedar City, was charged with four counts of burglary/theft and 16 counts of criminal mischief, said Beaver County Sheriff Cameron Noel.

The Iron County Sheriff's Office is requesting information on a wanted subject for mountain cabin burglaries. This subject (described as a 30-year-old six-foot 180 pound male Caucasian with a beard) was last seen wearing a baseball cap, snow boots, snow shoes, green wool or green tight sweatpants, a black slicker or windbreaker coat, and a green colored backpack with the hydration tube system built-in.
