Details: On 1/31/13 at about 1417 hours the Cedar City Public Safety Dispatch Center received a third party 911 call reporting that an adult female had been assaulted by an unknown male suspect.

Utah sheriffs write letter to Obama opposing executive order on guns

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Sheriffs' Association has written an open letter to President Barack Obama, respectfully outlining its opposition to executive orders announced this week altering gun laws.

Within four hours of being posted on the Cache County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, the letter had garnered more than 150 comments and 1,000 "likes."

The Iron County Sheriff’s Office has received reports of sprinkler pipe which has been stolen from local farms.  Scrap metal thieves are working year round stealing all kinds of items.  We are asking each person to check their pipe and mark it in a unique way so it can be easily identified if the thieves strike you.

Iron County deputies took a theft report that occurred on the 3000 block West of 4000 N. The complainant had found a pile of metal objects he had on his property had been stolen. An investigation is currently underway surrounding this incident. The Iron County Sheriff's Office encourages any citizen who possesses metal, to make certain it is secure. Unlicensed Salesmen

Deputies received reports of unlicensed salesmen going door to door in

Midvalley estates.  Deputies were unable to locate the suspects.  Later similar

reports were received in Encoh.  Enoch Officers located the suspects.  It was

confirmed that they were the same salesmen that had been reported earlier.  Four

suspects were located and cited for business license violations.  Two were

arrested on warrants.

New charges filed against elusive Utah cabin burglar

Another southern Utah county has filed criminal charges against the skilled wilderness survivalist whose random cabin burglaries have vexed police for five years.

The Iron County Attorney on Friday obtained an arrest warrant for Troy James Knapp, charging him with four felony counts of burglary, one felony count of theft and three misdemeanor counts of theft.
