Iron County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Grow Operation ”Take Down”

During the early morning hours of July 30, 2012, members of the Iron County Sheriff’s Office, along with the DEA, Forest Service and the Iron/Garfield Narcotics Task force, located and removed a number of marijuana plants located in a garden near Pinto, Utah.

Families, friends mourn men killed in plane crash – KSL (update)

MODENA, Iron County — Public safety officials Monday mourned the loss of two Idaho men who died while fighting a large fire in Utah's Iron County.

Todd Neal Tompkins, 48, and Ronnie Edwin Chambless, 40, were dropping fire retardant from a P2V heavy air tanker over the White Rock fire when the plane crashed in the Hamblin Valley area shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday. Both men were from Boise.
